Real Life: I'm a Sober Woman with Joelle Ashley

Joelle Ashley and Nikki are long-time friends. Nikki and Joelle first met when Nikki became Joelle’s choreographer for stage performances. Joelle has been a rising star her whole life... She is a triple threat; a singer, an actress, and a dancer. Through social media, Nikki and Joelle realized that they are both living sober lives. They were able to reconnect and form a new deeper life bond through our sobriety. Joelle and Nikki discuss their sobriety journeys while touching on their hardships and how they were able to get support. Both Nikki and Joelle had to pivot so much in life to adjust to difficult times. After the loss of Joelle’s father, her life changed forever. She took over her father’s business, Transitions, and continued his legacy. Joelle put her entertainment career behind her to help people who struggle with addiction. Joelle’s new role allowed her to stay close to her dad and better the lives of those who are sick and suffering. This empowering story touches on so many hard aspects of life and inspires us to keep pushing through. We hear about losing loved ones, addiction, recovery, making impossible decisions, and so much more.

“My main concern was taking care of everyone else. I never took care of whatever was hurting me and what was going on inside of me.”
